Emergency Planning

The recent H1N1 pandemic showed that workplaces need to have plans in place for emergencies.  Safety 4 Workplaces offers emergency plan development, specific to individual workplaces,  done in consultation with individual employers.

Ergonomic Assessments

With the increasing enforcement of ergonomic issues across North America, workplaces can ensure that they have considered ergonomics by conducting assessments.  Assessments can either be completed by Safety 4 Workplaces or training given so the workplace can conduct them as needed.

Investigations

All workplaces need to be able to investigate incidents. Hands-on training is offered on how, when and why to do investigations.   Forms specific to each workplace can be created by Safety 4 Workplaces.  Assistance in investigating incidents is available.

NAOSH Implementation

NAOSH (North American Occupational Safety and Health) week is an annual week-long tool for workplaces to encourage employees to value safety in their workplace, homes and community. Help is on hand with ideas of what to do during the week to make a success for everyone.

OHSAS 18001 Gap Analysis

Workplaces interested in seeing how close they are to being able to get 18001 certification, the International Safety Standard, can find out through having a gap analysis performed. Information sessions about the value of certification and the requirements of the standard are available.

Risk Assessments

Using risk assessments to identify hazards in the workplace is a well established safety tool. Conducting risk assessments, training on how to do risk assessments in-house, how to track hazards and show what is being done to minimize / eliminate hazards can be done by Safety 4 Workplaces.

Safety Program Development

Enforcement authorities require most workplaces to have a safety program applicable to that workplace.  Help is available to develop a program specific to each workplace and type of work being carried out.

WCB claims and Return-To-Work Management

WCB claims directly affect the workplace by lowering worker morale and increasing assessment costs for employers.  Claims Management is an effective means to keep costs in check.  An effective Return-to-Work program gets injured workers back to work earlier, thus increasing morale and reducing costs.

Workplace Inspections

Verification that legislative requirements are met before the Safety Officer comes knocking on the door can be conducted by Safety 4 Workplaces.   Regular inspections can identify deficiencies and promote compliance.
